The captured phantoms “pay it Forward” Fund

It’s time to pay it Forward.

As a BIPOC and LGBTQ+ entrepreneur, I intimately know the struggles my clients face when it comes to systemic oppression, underrepresentation, and finances all the while trying to get a business off the ground. Having access to professional services such as coaching, consultations, critiques, and editing can turn a good writer into a great one and help them get to the next level of where they want to be, but that access is often restricted or blocked due to lack of adequate resources.

Inspired by Jake Nicholls’ fund of the same name, I’ve decided to set up the Captured Phantoms “Pay It Forward” Fund to help provide services for those who can’t quite meet the full cost of my services at this time. In essence, it’s a giant tip jar that allows me to keep the lights on in leaner times while still serving as many people as I can.

At least five percent of all proceeds from book sale royalties, coaching fees, consulting fees, critique fees, and editorial service fees go toward the Pay It Forward Fund automatically from my end. However, the Pay It Forward Fund is primarily supported through the generous contributions of people like you who want to support the wider BIPOC, LGBTQ+, speculative, and commercial writing communities.

Whether you’re an ally or a part of the community yourself, you can make any size contribution, no matter how small, in order to make a huge difference. It is through the power of the collective that we can affect the greatest change.

Here’s how You can access the fund.

In order to access the Pay It Forward Fund, please complete the following steps:

  1. Please contact me via email with the subject line “Pay It Forward Fund Inquiry”.

  2. In the body of the email, please let me know what service(s) you’re interested in.

  3. Additionally, please let me know how much you would need from the Pay it Forward fund.

  4. (optional) If you consider yourself to be a part of the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, marginalized, or otherwise underrepresented communities across the world, please self-identify.

It really helps support my business, and it really helps level the playing field for marginalized creators.
