Enlightenment is closer than you think.
The Decolonial Dharma Book Coaching Program
Mindful.
Magical.
Masterful.
Plan, polish, and pitch your speculative fiction novel in just under a year.
In this remote, intensive book coaching program, you’ll discover how writing a mindful, compassionate act of resistance. However, make no mistake. This is not just another series of writing courses with guided meditations and chanting at the start of each session. Rather, this program is an invitation to explore Secular Buddhist principles as a means of decolonizing one’s writing practice with an eye toward winning the publishing game and fostering the next generation of storytellers.
Here’s what you’ll learn.
-
Pinpoint reasons for writer’s block, impostor syndrome and more so that they don’t get in the way of your next writing session. Stay mindful and present before, during, and after writing as well.
-
Stop writing draft after draft without getting any results. Be the architect of your story from the very beginning, and nail your pages with greater accuracy by addressing marketing and plot issues from the start instead of getting trapped in revision hell.
-
Community and calm look different for every person, but they’re both necessary on the path to publication or even manuscript completion. Recognize ways in which colonialism seek to drain you and not support you so that you can strengthen your support systems when needed.
-
Learn to be strong and flexible with yourself and your writing. Stay centered, focused, and mindful on your goals so that you don’t get lost as often.
-
Become acquainted with storytelling as a practice and as a history. Learn how to revise your novel on the macro and micro levels without compromising your voice, values, and style. Gather feedback from peers in equitable, encouraging ways that don’t mandate your silence.
-
Understand the structure of the traditional publishing game as well as any independent publishing routes. Craft a query letter that sings to literary agents and a synopsis that sizzles so that it stands out from the slush pile. Then, when you do pitch, say it with your whole voice.
That being said, which coaching tier do you think is right for you?
